Production Operative

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm is a family-run, year round visitor attraction and home to the famous Rattler Cyder! With a multi-faceted production facility specialising in a range of products from ciders, wines, preserves and spirits, our business is thriving and has a very exciting future ahead.

A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Production Team, to become part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark as a Production Operative. As a key member of our state-of-the-art production facility, you will be working to help create our popular and ever-growing range of award-winning products.

The key deliveries for this role are:

Along with the wider packaging team, you will work to ensure the production targets are met.
In the event of breakdown or issues with the packaging machinery, you will liaise with the Production Shift Manager to resolve the issues, escalating to the Engineer on shift if needed.
You will take responsibility for putting safety first and always behave in a manner to ensure your own safety and that of others.
You will adhere to site processes and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation to deliver quality products.
Work closely with the Quality Team to guarantee the products are of the best possible quality.
Take an active role to identify and deliver Hygiene and Housekeeping improvements.
Take an active role to identify and deliver Health, Safety, Environment and Food Safety improvements (e.g. involvement in audits and document reviews).
Own your personal training and development, ensuring you are compliant and safe to work at all times while striving for further upskilling as the opportunity arises.
To be open to completing tasks which may fall outside of your role or remit with a positive, sleeves rolled up mentality.

Ideal qualities we are looking for in candidates are:

Experience working in a packaging environment, specifically FMCG and Food & Drink
Awareness of HACCP Systems
Awareness of the cider making process
Seasonal demand/control experience in a process manufacturing environment

Ideal Qualifications:

Food Safety training
COSHH training/awareness

Skills required:

Ability to work well in a team and use own initiative
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Good level of numeracy
Confident in learning bespoke IT systems
Responsible, reliable and punctual

We are looking for a operative who has had previous experience fault fixing and maintaining filler machinery and is mechanically minded. Preference will be given to these applications.

Hours: You will work on a 4-on, 4-off continuous pattern of 12 hour shifts with hours typically from 6am to 6pm. 40.25 average weekly working hours.

Salary: Starting at £11.44 per hour, with the potential to increase following initial training and sign off.

You will have the opportunity to progress as you achieve training milestones.
