Mechanic & Maintenance Operative

We are looking for a responsible and hard-working Mechanic & Maintenance Person to join the team, ensuring all agricultural and commercial vehicles across all departments are maintained and ready to go at all times and fully compliant with Health and Safety.

Responsibilities include:

• Mechanical fault finding and preventative maintenance across all farm equipment on site.
• Responsible for ensuring all agricultural vehicles, machinery and tools are maintained, cleaned, checked as appropriate and ready for use at all times
• You will be expected to carry out regular maintenance and completion of machinery and vehicle logs including all health and safety aspects of all vehicles and agricultural equipment
• Security of workshop and all tools/equipment therein
• Maintaining gates and fences, farm grounds and animal enclosures
• Ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed (for yourself and others in your work area)
• Carry out regular building maintenance at appropriate times for aesthetics and site safety to include painting, preserving and basic repair work
• Agree time frames for completion of tasks/site activities
• All checklists and relevant paperwork completed accurately and timely
• Flexibility in duties to ensure best business practise across whole site
• Working with the site team and assisting when required with animal care following company policies and procedures.

Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate the following experience history:

• Mechanic experience in an agricultural environment
• Chainsaw Certificates
• PA1, PA3, PA6 spray certificates
• Full UK Driving License
• Tractor licence/Telehandler licence preferable but not essential

Hours: Average 40 hours a week (Varying as per contract and flexibility required to become available, some weekend and evening work may be necessary to meet deadlines.)

Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum (based on experience)
