Visitor Experience and Retail Assistant

As a key part of our Visitor Experience and Retail team you will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional experience and day out to all guests driving sales.
Hours: Our opening times vary but in the height of summer, we are open from 9am-8pm. Your hours will be flexible according to the needs of the business, ideally working up to 40 hours a week over the summer season. We will also consider part time roles for the right candidates.
Pay: Minimum wage for age, increasing by 20p per hour once you complete your induction with additional pay increments as you take on extra responsibility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Greeting all guests as they enter and ensuring they are made to feel welcome.
- Serving customers promptly, using knowledge of Healeys products to upsell as appropriate.
- Proactively restocking as needed to ensure correct stock levels are met throughout the day.
- Ensure that products are presented well in the VC including setting up displays as directed by the Duty Manager.
- Driving sales, pushing offers through all retail outlets.
- Ensuring the ‘5 Step’ procedure is followed at all times.
- Assisting in retail stock takes, being mindful of stock reporting including wastage and transfers.
- Ensure a clean and tidy site at all times, paying specific attention to the Health & Safety of all visitors and staff.
- Ensure compliance with the law in relation to sales of alcohol.
- Undertaking and recording daily and weekly shop/site cleaning rota.
- Conducting customer samplings and product sessions in the shop and at customer events.
- Attending trade shows and food and drink events on behalf of Healeys, including set-up and closedown.
- Willing to take on extra responsibilities (such as tractor rides and tours) once experienced.
- To be open to completing tasks which may fall outside of your role or remit with a positive, sleeves rolled up mentality as and when requested.
Work Experience
- Previous experience in retail and customer service
- Familiarity with EPOS systems
- Experience in using product knowledge and tastings to promote products to customers
- Working within a tourist attraction
Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced consumer environment
- Good communication skills
- Good attention to detail
