In-House Graphic Designer

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm is a family-run, admission-based visitor attraction and home to Rattler Cyder! Since the company was founded in 1980, Healeys Cyder has grown enormously, boasting more than 130,000 visitors per year and an array of awards for our cyders & spirits. With an impressive schedule of events, alongside a multi-million-pound investment across a two-phase extension project, our business is thriving and has a very exciting future ahead.

A fantastic opportunity is available to join a busy marketing team, to become part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark in this exciting role as an In-house Graphic Designer.

This role will give you a primary focus on all graphic design requirements for the farm as a visitor attraction, including but not limited to merchandise, leaflets, print & digital adverts, on-site POS, menus and more! There will also be opportunities to work with one of the coolest brands in the county, Rattler Cyder!

With the support of the Marketing Manager and Senior In-House Designer, you will be responsible for all design requirements across the farm, which may include an array of disciplines such as;

Digital ads for online marketing campaigns, imagery for email campaigns, onsite POS, signage, merchandise and more. If it is (or needs to be) seen by a customer at the farm, there is a very good chance you’ll be involved in its design and final execution.
In addition to the above, you may be involved in external marketing projects such as brochure adverts, local media adverts, billboards, etc.
On occasion, you may be given projects to head up from brief through to execution, which will involve project management duties, liaising with internal and external partners/suppliers, overseeing design and production.
Collaborate with our visitor & retail teams to fulfil design requirements, whether it be updating restaurant menus, customer signage or shelf edge labels for our retail area(s).
Ensure on-site customer communications/signage are kept up-to-date and presentable.
To provide in-house photography where applicable.
Be knowledgeable about Healeys target markets to inform marketable designs. You will be supported during your induction.
Liaise with suppliers, sending approved artwork to the correct specification and requirements within specified timeframes.
Working with the Marketing Manager to ensure print quality on any new products, e.g. labels, merchandise and POS, is to Healeys standards and does the design justice.
Deliver ad-hoc requests in a timely manner to Healeys standards.
Ensure that artwork is saved and filed correctly in the right formats and that physical and digital files can be accessed by all relevant departments.
Flexibility in duties may be needed to cover “off-season” to ensure best business practice

Personal Qualities are important, and preference will be given to candidates with a solid background in the following:

A proven track record and experience of producing an array of graphic design work, including printed material.
Practical experience in a similar role
Degree or equivalent in Graphic Design and/or Illustration

Along with skills in the following:

Proficient use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign is an absolute must.
You must be creative and passionate about great design. There is a real opportunity to make your mark at Healeys!
Professional understanding of print/colour techniques in order to ensure design work is suitable for the desired output.
Experience in product/packaging design would be advantageous but not a firm requirement.
Photography/videography skills would also be highly desirable, but not essential.
