Retail Operations Manager

A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Visitor Services team, to become part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark in this important role as our Retail Operations Manager.

Here at Healeys, no two days are the same, and the ever-growing nature of the business means that there is always something new to sink your teeth into! You will be responsible for all retail operations within our busy tourist attraction setting. Including but not limited to all visitor experience touch points and on-site and external events. This will include an array of disciplines such as:

Ensuring the delivery of an excellent customer experience at all times on-site
driving sales and maximising profits through detailed planning and analysis,
running all on-site retail outlets
Leading the team from the front and by example.
Establishing & maintaining high standards and operating procedures around customer Service,
Generating relevant marketing initiatives to drive business in off-season – all of which will be fully costed, complete with financial projections and full commercial review and recommendations
Implementing ‘best in class’ tourism and retail practices to ensure Healeys Visitor Centre remains at the forefront of tourism and retail in Cornwall
Working with the Visitor Experience Management Team (VEM) to ensure a quality visitor experience is monitored and there is consistency across departments
Work with the Events team to the successful delivery of both internal and external functions
Investigate opportunities for, and implement strategies to enhance the visitor experience
Identify learning and development needs, recruit, train, monitor and motivate staff for continuous improvement.
Monitor retail staff budgets, set rota’s and staff breaks to ensure smooth and efficient working practice.
Ensure a clean & tidy site with specific reference to the Health & Safety of all visitors & staff.
Ensure compliance with the law in relation to sales of alcohol.
Ensure appropriate stock levels, stock rotation and keep accurate stock records.
Present timely daily/weekly/monthly reports as required.
Work in as part of the management team to ensure the business is run efficiently.
Assume duties of Site Duty Manager as required.
Ensure a quality tour experience is offered providing superb value for money
Review and update training notes

Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Hours: FUll-Time, contracted minimum 40 hours per week, 5 Days, Flexible Monday to Sunday.
