A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Facilities Team, to become part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark in this important role as our Gardener.

The objective of the role will be to provide well-presented gardens and grounds across all Healey sites.

Hours: Average 40 Hours a week, working flexibly across a 7 day schedule, with the potential for some weekend and evening work as required.

Salary: Starting salary £10.00 per hour.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Principally responsible for all Garden and ground work, including Grass cutting, (tractor and lawnmower), Strimming, weed control, hedges, flowerbeds and plant and shrubs, hanging baskets and Tubs (seasonally).
  • Ensuring that the site is safe and clean
  • Landscape maintenance.
  • Maintain garden and site equipment
  • Ensure that all checklists and relevant paperwork are filled in accurately and presented on time. All tasks to be completed to an acceptable audit standard.
  • Regular site tasks maintaining gates, fences, gutters, painting, preserving, walling and basic maintenance at appropriate times across all grounds
  • Adhere to the Company’s policies on Safety, Hygiene, Procedures, Policies and Good Housekeeping.
  • Agree time frames for completion of tasks/site activities
  • Security of workshop and all tools/equipment therein
  • Identify, plan, carry out and review continuous improvement activities
  • Carry out tractor work as required
  • Provide support to assist in maintaining and spraying the orchards or vineyard.
  • Tractor tour driving as required (weekends)
  • Ensuring all animals are regularly fed, counted and checked and in a clean state. Ensuring animals are in good health and to be available at all times to assist in their welfare.
  • Rodent control. (All Sites)
  • Assist with any other site duties as required

While fit and personality are important to us, preference will be given to applicants who can showcase the following skills / experience:

  • PA1, PA3 and PA6 Spraying certificates
  • Chainsaw certificate
  • Full UK driving license
  • Health and Safety – risk assessments
  • Health & Safety Safe working practices
  • Tractor license
  • Horticultural and general agricultural experience
  • Horticultural Knowledge
  • Multiskilled grounds maintenance experience
  • General Maintenance
