A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Site Team as an Maintenance Builder and Electrician. To become a permanent part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark in this exciting role please continue reading.
In this role, you will represent the Company in a positive light, as well as repair and maintain the site/ grounds and equipment/ machinery to a high standard. This includes installing wiring, motors, transformers, generators, lighting, and other electrical systems.
On a day-to-day basis, your success will look like:
- Carrying out regular building, plumbing, masonry and carpentry maintenance at appropriate times for aesthetics and site safety, to include painting, preserving and repair work
- Installing, maintaining, and enhancing electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring
- Inspecting, testing, and diagnosing issues with electrical systems and components
- Ensuring machinery and tools are maintained, cleaned, checked as appropriate, and safe and ready for use at all times
- Testing electrical systems and components to ensure effective operation, as well as completing the required documentation, providing repair and service information
- Performing all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical and building codes, blueprints, and standards
- Carrying out small building and maintenance projects as required across all company sites
- Ensuring adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts, as well as calibrating equipment to the required specifications
- Performing preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components, troubleshooting problems and making timely repairs
- To be open to completing tasks which may fall outside of your role or remit with a positive, sleeves rolled up mentality
While personality and fit are important to us, preference will be given to applicants who can showcase the following qualifications and skills:
- 17th/18th Edition Electrical Qualification
- 2391 Electrical Testing & Inspection
- A relevant Health & Safety Qualification
- Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
- The ability to use your own initiative and work as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work
- Completion of an electrician development programme, such as an apprenticeship
- Experience in carpentry and woodwork
- Previous experience in a farming environment
- Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
- 3-5 years of electrical experience
- A full valid driver’s license, tractor license and/or telehandler ticket
- Relevant chainsaw certificates
Hours: Contracted minimum 40 hours per week. You will work flexibly, 5 days, Monday to Sunday.
Salary: Up to £32,000 per year
