A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Site Team as an Maintenance Builder. To become a permanent part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark in this exciting role please continue reading.

As directed by the Estates Manager you will undertake a range of reactive and proactive maintenance work, ranging from painting to plumbing, to ensure that the site is at all times presented in a safe and well-maintained manner.

On a day-to-day basis, your success will look like:

  • Carry out regular building maintenance at appropriate times for aesthetics and site safety ranging from painting to plumbing to plastering
  • Carrying out small building and maintenance projects as required across all company sites.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests as required, prioritising other works as directed by the Estates Manager.
  • Proactive maintenance of gates and fences, farm grounds and animal enclosures
  • Ensuring machinery and tools are maintained, cleaned, checked as appropriate, safe and ready for use at all times
  • All checklists, relevant paperwork, damage reports and electronic forms completed accurately and timely
  • Ensure the site is kept clean, safe and tidy.
  • Security of workshop and all tools/equipment therein
  • Have a focus on Health and Safety, setting the example to the rest of the team and adhering to accepted procedures to reduce unwanted events and accidents.
  • Flexibility in duties to ensure best business practise across whole site
  • Working with the site team and assisting when required with animal care following company policies and procedures, and the safe movement of animals from one area of the farm to another.
  • Assisting with inspection and maintenance of vehicles, agricultural\industrial vehicles, reporting any damage or maintenance requirements to the Estates Manager
  • Assist the Assistant Estates Manager when required in the Orchards
  • To be open to completing tasks which may fall outside of your role or remit with a positive, sleeves rolled up mentality

While personality and fit are important to us, preference will be given to applicants who can showcase the following qualifications and skills:

  • UK Driving Licence
  • Tractor License and Telehandler qualification
  • Chainsaw Certificate
  • Site Maintenance qualification or similar
  • Ability to prioritise work as required
  • Site maintenance or building experience
  • Proven experience of safe working practices
  • Demonstrable experience in practical work and problem solving

Hours: Contracted 40 hours per week. You will work flexibly, 5 days, Monday to Sunday.

Hourly Wage: Up To £12.00 per hour
