A Cornish Cream Tea Experience at Healeys Cyder Farm
There are few things more British than scones and tea. So, it’s no wonder that we’ve expanded our restaurant facilities. By creating a new tea room in the heart of the Healey’s Cyder Farm’s original 170 year old courtyard, we can now cater to large and small groups who are in search of something special; and our Cornish cream tea is something special.
At Healey’s Cyder Farm, we believe that nothing tastes better than traditional homemade food. So, we take the time to make all of our scones from scratch, right here on the farm. There’s no shipping them in from elsewhere or buying them from a local shop, our fantastic team are able to bake delicious scones onsite.
Unique and Delicious Handmade Scones
We have recently converted one of our trusty old barns into a new rustic-style tea room and with this new found space, the Healey’s Cyder Farm kitchen team have worked hard to develop three fantastic varieties of scones for visitors to enjoy. With such a variety of tastes on offer, there’s definitely something for everyone. The three new varieties are:
- Apple scones and Healeys’ scrumpy apple & bramble jam topped off with Trewithen Dairy clotted cream – Sounds delicious doesn’t it? This is one of the most popular choices. With an orchard full of tasty apples, it’s fitting that we have an apple scone to start the trio of new scone varieties. By teaming the scones with a secret twist and our unique jam, we’re able to offer a tasty treat to our visitors. Plus, we top the scones with Trewithen Dairy clotted cream as a final touch.
- Cheese scones with Healeys’ own scrumpy apple chutney and Trewithen Dairy crème fraiche – You can’t go wrong with cheese scones. If you prefer a savoury snack or you’re someone who doesn’t have much of a sweet touch, our cheese scones are perfect. We team the scones with scrumpy apple chutney and Trewithen Dairy crème fraiche; a great combination. These tasty savoury treats are created in our very own farm kitchen using Davidstow cheddar from North Cornwall, and baked using the secret Healey family recipe.
- The Traditional Cornish Cream Tea served with local Trewithen Dairy golden clotted cream and Healey’s homemade strawberry jam (which goes before the cream, naturally) – Sometimes, it’s best to stick to a Traditional Cornish Cream Tea, especially if you’re experiencing a Cornish cream tea for the first time and want to experience its full effect. The Healey’s Cyder Farm Cornish cream tea is served with local Trewithen Dairy golden clotted cream and Healey’s homemade strawberry jam. This classic family recipe is one of the best in the South West. Don’t forget, the jam goes before the cream!
If you can’t decide what scone combination to go for or you’re keen to try them all, opt for the Scone Sharing Platter for Two. This sharing platter offers you a taste of everything, so you won’t miss out on a single flavour. What’s more, you can spice up your cream tea with a cheeky tipple. Round off your afternoon tea with a half of Classic Reserve Cyder in the sunny courtyard as spring gives way to summer.
