As Technical Manager – Quality you will play an important role within the business ensuring that the company’s activities and policies comply with the legal requirements and protocols. You will be expected to carry our regular procedures and policy reviews, reviewing risk assessment, HACCP, develop and maintain QMS program, ensuring controls are in place to ensure quality and safety of both company and its customers.
The key deliveries for this role are:
- To ensure food safety, integrity and legal standards (such as SALSA & BRC) are always met.
- To ensure all documentation is reviewed, updated, and maintained in line with requirements.
- Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations, ensuring compliance monitoring with law, Regulations and internal policies are always in place.
- Deputising for the Head of Technical as required.
- Implementing, embedding, and maintaining a management system which enables sustainability through standardisation.
- Proactively reviewing policies, procedures, and risk assessments to continuously improve ways of working.
- Monitoring production compliance against policies, procedures, and specifications, identifying situations where the business operates outside these parameters and making recommendations to bring any non-conformance back inline.
- Providing technical training and upskilling to staff when new policies, procedures and risk assessments are released.
- Carrying out internal audits and spot checks to check compliance against policies, procedures, and risk assessments, highlighting areas of opportunity.
- To perform risk assessments to understand risk level, significance, and scope.
- To support the review of HACCP plan and review when necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.
- To conduct QMS audits and record any finding ensuring any compliance issues are escalated when necessary.
- Providing QC cover when required, this may include weekend working.
- To be open to completing tasks which may fall outside of your role or remit with a positive, sleeves rolled up mentality.
Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/production environment
- Experience in developing a QMS Program
- Internal Auditing
- HACCP Management
- Environmental Compliance
Ideal Qualifications
- Food Science relevant degree
- HACCP Level 3
Skills Requirements

- Remaining resilient when you identify areas of non-compliance
- Using various models of root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement
