Production Engineer

A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Engineering Team, to become part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark as a Production Engineer.
As Production Engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth running of machinery at all times, both proactive and reactive maintenance on plant and other site machinery. You will be responsible for the upkeep of servicing records and inspections.
Salary - £35,000 per year
Hours - Average 40.25 hours per week. Normal working times will be on a rotational shift pattern of 4 days working, with 4 days’ rest, on an 8-week rotation. Monday – Sunday including Bank Holidays
Duties & Responsibilities
- To provide technical support in response to breakdowns on process and IT systems, plant and equipment, including excellent fault-finding techniques.
- To correctly diagnose any faults and implement sustainable recovery/improvement dealing with the root cause.
- To respond promptly and effectively to ensure quick resolution to any equipment issues to minimise any downtime, quality, and efficiency problems.
- To review, improve and apply effective planned maintenance.
- To monitor production efficiency, identify and execute process improvements.
- Deliver electrical, mechanical, PLC, and instrumentation maintenance across the site on all equipment.
- To Increase available line capacity through OEE.
- To Maintain equipment maintenance records, aligning with GMP/GDP.
- Participate constructively as a member of the department, keeping everyone informed and proactively share your knowledge and expertise within the team.
- Proactively taking responsibility to support the wider production team achieve their goals and targets.
- Any other activity/tasks as and when requested
Work Experience
- Experience working in a food production environment, particularly beverage production
- Working closely with both production and engineering teams
- Experience with permit to works systems and contractor control
Qualifications
- Electrical – AM2 Qualification or Similar
- BOAS qualification or similar
Skills
- Computer literacy with knowledge of SCADA and CMMS Systems
- In depth working knowledge with control systems
- Good PLC and instrumentation knowledge
- Mechanical problem-solving skills
