Cafe Supervisor
Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm is a family-run, year round visitor attraction and home to the famous Rattler Cyder! A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy F&B team, to become part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark as Café Supervisor.
You will ensure the smooth operations of all catering outlets on site producing consistently excellent food of the very highest standard for our customers whilst delivering so in a cost-effective, transparent and profitable manner.
Salary: £13.00 per hour
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for running all catering outlets on the farm with the flexibility of multi-tasking in the absence of the FOH Manager.
- Have a clear understanding of wage percentages to control staff costs.
- Train and support the team, with customer service and quality of offering as a top priority.
- Maximise all sales opportunities to meet revenue and profitability targets.
- Ensure the highest quality of presentation of both food and the outlets themselves.
- High quality customer service to deliver an exception brand experience for all visitors and to ensure that your team follows your example.
- Upselling and add on sales of own brand products as well as other menu items to increase average spend per person.
- Excellent product knowledge of own goods as well as Cornish goods and ensuring that you and your team promote these when taking visitors’ orders and serving dishes.
- Opening up and closing down of food outlets, in accordance with procedures and merchandising guidelines, in the following key areas: Customer Service, Housekeeping duties, Sales opportunities, Site Security, Money processing.
- Communicate and liaise with suppliers, clients and customers.
- Working in conjunction with other staff in the absence of the FOH Manager to ensure the business is run appropriately and efficiently.
- Making sure that your workplace is fit for purpose and is always looking at its best ensuring any Health & Safety issues or repairs are acted upon with utmost urgency.
- Any other activity/tasks which may fall outside of your role as or when requested.
Work Experience
- Experience in running a busy restaurant/café
- Proven track record in people management
- Strong team Leader and commercial experience
Qualifications
- Current Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable)
- First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
