Head of People & Training

We are currently planning out 2022 season and whether it is getting to the core of great flavour or thinking outside the box, we know what it takes to make our business special. Right now, we are recruiting for a talented and self-driven individual to come and start their Healeys story supporting the Head of Operations with the company People strategy. We are looking for a passionate leader who can take responsibility, be adaptable and fundamentally be driven by delivering strong performance.
You will need to have a strong background as a HR business partner or generalist working in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver initiatives centred around enhancing the overall employee experience and employer brand.
- Working with the executive team and team leaders, you will own all human resources related activities.
- Over time, you will build, challenge and motivate a team of People professionals and Administrators to deliver a complete human resources capability that can scale as the company grows.
- Ensure that all activities delivered by the People department are cost-effective, in budget, fit for purpose and responsive to the needs of all stakeholders.
- Oversee complex employee relations and legal compliance with the support of the People Partner.
- Coach and advise the Senior Management Team on best people practices and strategy.
- Provide useful data to help guide decision making, and allow the company to scale effectively and efficiently.
- Introduce and develop a comprehensive, cost-effective people system to streamline people processes and build employee engagement.
- Provide leadership on people related issues and policies across the company.
- Be able to communicate at all levels in the company and to support business development and change.
- Build and maintain, with the support of the People Partner, a company-wide training matrix and framework by which to upskill and develop teams to reach optimum performance potential.
- Develop an employee retention strategy including reward, recognition, benefits, performance management, employee health and wellbeing.
- Support the HOO and Directors to engage with initiatives throughout the brand and on other related projects.
While personal qualities are important, preference will be given to applicants with a strong experience in the following areas:
- 5+ years in a HR / People/ Training Role.
- Proven HR Generalist
- Multi faced Operational experience
- Experience in change management and organisational design.
- An ability to maintain confidentiality and to act with discretion and diplomacy is essential.
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of UK employment law
- Prior experience managing a small team
- Experience managing key stakeholders
Applicants must be CIPD and ideally Degree level qualified, though consideration will be given to applicants with comparable vocational experience.
