Food & Beverage Manager
Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm is a family-run, admission-based visitor attraction and home to Rattler Cyder! Since the company was founded in 1980, Healeys Cyder has grown enormously, boasting more than 130,000 visitors per year and array of awards for our cyders & spirits. With an impressive schedule of events, alongside a multi-million-pound investment across a two-phase extension project, driving an exceptional visitor experience on-site has never been more important.
A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Food & Beverage team, to become a permanent part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark in this exciting role as our Food & Beverage Manager.
You will play a key role, running all catering outlets on the farm. You will be responsible for the day-to-day runing of the Food & Beverage department, ensuring that xustomer service and quality of offering is top priority. You will maximise all sales opportunities and ensure the highest quality of presentation of both food and the outlets themselves. Continuously pushing the catering department forward thinking of new ideas and developments to better the department and overall guest experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Achieving and exceeding monthly Catering sales targets
- Operationally be able to deliver the day-to-day business to ensure a smooth brand experience for each and every visitor in the Catering department, including the opening and closing of all catering outlets, in accordance with procedures, checklists and merchandising guidelines, in the following key areas: Customer Service, Health and safety, Cleanliness, Food and drink displays, Site Security, Money processing
- Attending weekly operational meetings providing information on revenue, feedback, and any operational changes for the catering department.
- Working with the people team for the recruitment, induction and training of new catering staff. Scheduling and managing day to day hours in line with wage percentage targets.
- Consistent problem solving within the catering department, ensuring any issues are dealt with in line with company procedure.
- Excellent product knowledge of menu’s along with Healey’s products and the farm visitor experience.
- Communicate and liaise with suppliers, clients and customers with any issues or queries within the catering department
- Ensure the strictest of hygiene standards are maintained across all catering outlets, both front and back-of-house
- Devise creative and innovative projects to maximise footfall (focusing on the quieter months)
- Manage external events hosted at the farm, ensuring an impeccable experience and building relationships for future engagement.
- Ensuring that stocktaking, stock control and ordering for the catering department is managed and recorded correctly, ensuring wastage is minimised and costs are efficiently controlled wherever possible.
- Reviewing and actioning supplier pricing, GP effects and food quality on a weekly basis.
- In partnership with the Head chef, writing and developing the menus, setting GP target, checking costings and always thinking of maximising spend per head.
- Ensuring a positive, clean and safe working environment is maintained for all staff in the catering department
- Consistent communication with the Retail Operations Manager, ensuring the business is run appropriately and efficiently across all customer-facing departments.
- To be open to completing tasks which may fall outside of your role or remit with a positive, sleeves rolled up mentality

While personality and fit are important to us, preference will be given to applicants who can showcase the following experience:
- Experience in running a busy restaurant/café
- Proven track record in management
- Current Food Hygiene Certificate
- Licensee Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Any relevant management qualifications
Hours: Contracted minimum 40 hours per week, working flexibly, 5 days, Monday to Sunday. Latest finish 8pm in the height of summer.
Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum, dependent on experience
