A fantastic opportunity has become available to join our busy Supply Chain & Procurement Team as Production Planner. If you’re interested in working for an iconic Cornish business and would like to make your mark in this exciting role, please continue reading to learn more.

You will play a key role, ensuring the efficient and effective scheduling of production, aiming to reduce operational costs and utilise raw materials/packaging inventory in a timely manner, within life and to the best economic order cycle. You will have a unique role, based within our Supply Chain & Procurement Team but working closely with your counterparts in the Production Team.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be:

  • Carrying out daily planning and coordination of production schedules.
  • Supervising schedules and workflow to ensure that deliveries are made in a timely manner.
  • Planning inbound deliveries to meet production requirements, obtaining confirmation from Suppliers of delivery dates to reduce the risk of failed deliveries.
  • Coordinating and developing production plans with the Company’s management team.
  • Creating efficient scheduling processes or methods to help meet production goals, as well as allowing adequate time for hygiene works to be completed.
  • Place orders for production materials within supplier lead-times to avoid delays in production due to shortage in inventory.
  • Generating accurate production reports that will be utilised by the business for decision making – plan vs. actual, cost of inventory, at risk products, supplier performance, customer service.
  • Analysing issues as they arise relating to material shortages/machinery breakdowns/line stoppages and provide contingency plans in to minimise the impact to the customer.

Personality and cultural fit are really important to us, but we’ll also be looking for the following qualifications and skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar position.
  • Experience of providing excellent customer service.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organisational abilities.
  • Able to effectively prioritise a busy workload.
  • Is a real team player.
  • Has a strong attention to detail.

Hours:

  • Contracted minimum 40 hours per week. You will work flexibly, 5 days, Monday to Sunday.

Salary:

£29,000 - £32,000 per annum
